We picked up Noodle on Easter Sunday, 2014. We had recently put our first male Boykin Spaniel to sleep at age 14 following an extended illness, and we were so excited to get this puppy. We had no idea that, only two weeks later, my husband would work his last day at the job he had held for some +/- 25 years. We had never heard of IVDD or lumbosacral disc disease. And never in a million years would we have imagined that we would be putting our sweet, crazy little puppy to sleep before his 5th birthday. God is merciful in not revealing pain that is in our future, because we probably would have avoided that path and missed a lot of joy in the meantime...(click the link below to view the full article)
